About the role

Our client is a young male with a severe traumatic brain injury which has resulted in delayed cognitive development and epilepsy and an acquired brain injury. He lives at home with his parents and sibling and your role will be to provide care and support to our client at his family home and out in the community. You will also be required to support our client on trips to / from school.  He requires assistance with manual handling and personal care and medication management.    

There will be an opportunity for you to attend a meet & greet / work shadow shifts prior to going live – this is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate where you will receive great job satisfaction.

Healthcare Assistants (HCA’s) will have an opportunity to build on their current experience by working directly with clinical interventions including but not limited to:-

NG/Gastrostomy feeding, BIPAP, Cough Assist, Tracheostomy. Suction etc.

We are seeking Healthcare Assistants (HCA’s) to work in partnership with our nurses to provide clinical interventions for patients with a range of debilitating conditions and disabilities. You will be compassionate and caring with a desire to succeed in all that you do. We have an excellent training programme in place to support you with your career development.

Pay rates: From £11.08 - £16.63 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Flexible working:  Our client attends School and also requires support during the holidays.  Shift patterns are 07.00 – 10.00,  14.45 – 20.00 (School terms) – 10.00 – 20.00 weekends and School Holidays, plus waking nights

In return, we’d like you to have:

  • Be committed to providing the highest standard of compassionate care
  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)
  • Sound knowledge of person centered care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilation care
  • Medication management
  • Catheter care
  • Manual handling
  • Spinal Injury
  • ABI
  • Epilepsy
  • Experience of working with clients with complex care needs
